Jimmy Walsh injured swinging at a pitch and left game (Kirkpatrick took over at bat)
Zwilling hit an apparent home run into the right field bleachers but HP umpire Van Sickle had called time before the pitch (he wanted to inspect the baseball). Cubs manager Joe Tinker argued for 20 minutes that the home run should count. The rhubarb only ended when umpire Van Sickle threated to award the game to Baltimore via forfeit if the Cubs did not resume the game.
