  • Cubs Manager Gomez ejected by HP umpire Montague for arguing that Montague's balk signal was confusing; Montague yelled balk, waved his arms in the air, and jumped away from his position; Sutter delivered the pitch anyway and Reitz hit a sac bunt to 1bman; Cubs thought Montague had called time out so 1bman tossed the ball back to pitcher; someone in Cardinals dugout yelled for Reitz to run (he had stopped partway to 1st); Cardinals chose to accept the outcome of the play and decline the balk, leading to argument from Gomez and ejection
