- Boston's Evers ejected by 1B umpire Emslie for arguing Johnston was out at 1st at conclusion of inning. Evers stormed around the diamond after being ejected and went into the Pirates dugout. Pirates manager Clarke told him to get out of there and he and Evers exchanged blows. Clarke was ejected by umpire Emslie.
