Belanger popped out to Perez but the play was negated because LF umpire Flaherty had called time when a souvenir bat had fallen out of the LF bleachers onto the field
Rose claimed he had hit the ball off his foot while still in the batter's box, but after examining the ball for shoe polish and finding none, HP umpire Stewart ruled the batted ball was fair and Rose was out
