Notes & reviews
- It rained most of the game making the field a mass of tricky sticky mud; outfield was filled with puddles; burned oil had removed most of the surface moisture from the infield.
- Interference removed the 64 force out that had happened; a catcher error on this play isn't in the rules until 1951; batter RBI on the play, since the run would have scored if the force out had stood.
- Judge: head-long dive into 1B after catching wide throw
- Rain began
- Harris tagged McInnis
- Cuyler: great catch
- Drizzle and low-hanging clouds made it virtually impossible to see the ball.
- Rice: shoestring catch
- Traynor: leaping stop
- Raining steadily
- McInnis: scooped bad throw
- Raining harder now
- Over LF fence
- Traynor: diving stop
- Raining harder
- Rice protested furiously
