Notes & reviews
- Cardinals chose not to field it right away, hoping it would roll foul. Duncan easily beat Nieto's hurried throw to 2B.
- As Van Slyke charged it the ball bounced high over him and rolled to the wall.
- High wild pitch caromed off the backstop right to Nieto who made a diving tag.
- Over RF fence
- Landreaux: shoestring catch
- Golfed over LF fence
- Brock: good stop and throw but Welch dropped it before colliding with Braun.
- Sax bobbled it
- High chopper
- McGee out on appeal for leaving 2B too soon
- Just missed a home run
- Smith: diving stop
- Herr: great play
- Blooper bounced high over McGee and Braun. Scioscia headed to 3B when Pendleton left the bag to cut off Braun's throw home. Terry appeared to have time to run down Scioscia but when he muffed the short hop and it rolled away from him toward the LF line, Scioscia kept on going. The throw home arrived in plenty of time but was wide to the 1B side allowing Scioscia to hook slide around Nieto's backhanded swiping tag.
- Brock: leaping catch of Sax's high relay throw
