Umpire Chris Pelekoudas missed the game with the flu
Moose checked his swing on the 1-2 pitch, which sailed to the backstop and Sanguillen scored; the pitch was called a ball but pitcher Bunning appealed to 1B umpire Donatelli on the check swing; Donatelli ruled that Moose had swung for strike three; catcher threw the ball to 3B to get Mazeroski trying to advance from 1B; Bunning then yelled to 3bman Money that Moose never ran to 1B; Money threw the ball to 1bman Johnson; the umpires huddled, ruled Moose out and disallowed the run; this ruling was incorrect and in top of 8th umpires reversed the decision and restored the Pirates' run
Phillies coach Myatt ejected by HP umpire Davidson for continuing to argue that Briggs was safe at second
