  • After being hit by the batted ball, Stargell was late taking the field for the top of the inning and umpire Tony Venzon put on a glove and warmed up the infield until Stargell returned.
  • Boswell had a bruised left thumb and couldn't bat.
  • Pfeil had to scramble back to 1B as Clemente threw behind him on a close play.
