Notes & reviews
- Indians Weatherly, not in game, ejected by HP umpire Quinn for arguing that third strike had been caught; Hemsley thought he caught pitch for 3rd out and rolled ball to mound; Chicago coach Bill Webb saw pitch was not caught and signaled runners to advance; as Indians were coming off field, RF Campbell picked up ball at mound but two runs had scored; initial ruling was that inning was over, but after vehement Chicago arguments, umpires huddled and changed call to missed catch, causing Cleveland to argue but ruling stood, leading to Weatherly's ejection
