Notes & reviews

  • Morning rain made OF grass sodden but the diamond was kept dry by a big oilskin 'bedspread'. Some damp spots on the base lines were repaired by several wheelbarrow loads of sand hastily dumped by the grounds keepers. Ruth got a great hand as he came to bat
  • Attempted double steal
  • Game was delayed 10 minutes somewhere in the 1st inning to make repairs to the pitching rubber.
  • Texas Leaguer
  • Pretty stab
  • Close play at plate; good hook slide by Ruth (picture in WP)
  • Just past Harris
  • Between Ruth & Combs, to the scoreboard
  • 3 tremendous swings pbp account ends here, rest deduced
