  • As Ring came to bat, Wingo said something and they almost fought. After flying out, backup catcher/1B coach Douglass continued the verbal assault on Ring who lunged at Douglass. No blows were landed as other players got between them. Ring and Douglass were ejected by HP umpire McLaughlin. Fans threw newspapers at Douglass as he reached the gate.
