Fine catch
Rain began falling, coming down harder as Lucey fanned. Rommel was getting ready to pitch to Heving when Ump Owens called time and headed for shelter. Rain stopped after 10 minutes or so, but play was delayed 35-40 minutes due to the wet grounds. As play resumed, the field was soft, but not too muddy. Players had a hasty limbering-up drill and the game was resumed at 4:55pm.
Into LF stands
Just missed HR, high off the screen; held to single mainly due to heavy/slithery track on the baselines.
Lucey knocked it down and had no play but hurled a low throw to 2B anyway and it skipped into RF.
PHA: Bishop out 3 weeks with broken ankle bone; Dykes out with a strained tendon.
