NYTEM: Shawkey noticed Cobb had a big lead off 1B and dashed over with the ball to try to make the tag himself. But Cobb got back to 1B safely and had the last laugh on Shawkey when Burke legged it to 3B during the play. NYT: While Gehrig and Cobb were chatting at 1B, Shawkey tried to sneak over and catch Tyrus off the base, but he was a bit late. Burke stole 3B on the bold attempt.
