Big crowd surrounded the field; ground rules held long pokes to doubles and triples. Fans crowded on the roof of the grandstand and all the windows in the surrounding factories were filled.
Youngs argued with Ump O'Day; when he got back to the bench he tossed a handful of drinking cups at the ump but O'Day did not see them.
