Notes & reviews

after Severeid caught O'Neill's foul popup Shanks took off for 2B and Severeid threw to SS Gerber who threw back to Severeid who tagged out Roth trying to score from 3B
Smith started for 2B when Rice fumbled the ball, but was thrown out trying to return to 1B by Harris
Severeid started to walk off field when Shocker's hit landed safely in RF but Browns manager Burke rushed on to field and made Severeid touch 2B mindful of the famous Merkle incident in 1908 (here there was no out so Tobin's run would have counted anyway)
