Notes & reviews
- Johnston's bunt down line rolled into another baseball which had been thrown back from the stands preventing 3Bman Stock from throwing out Johnston at 1st. While Cardinals argued with umpires that the play should not be allowed, Johnston stepped off 1st base and was tagged out by the 1Bman (ending the argument)
