Doyle and Cubs manager Mitchell ejected by HP umpire O'Day for arguing the reversal of a safe call at Doyle at 3rd. Base umpire Harrison initially called Doyle safe but O'Day over-ruled him and called Doyle out due to coach's interference. Jimmy Archer, not in game, ejected by umpire Harrison for arguing from the bench.
Smith and Tom Hughes, not in game, ejected by HP umpire O'Day for complaining that Cubs pitcher Seaton was doctoring the ball. Massey took over Smith's at bat.
Wolter ejected by base umpire Harrison for continuing the argument about the earlier controversial decision at 3B.
