catcher Jerry Moses jumped up to argue the ball four call with HP umpire John Rice; pitcher Mike Nagy also yelled at Rice; George Thomas stood on the top step of the dugout and made a choke sign with his hand around his neck; Moses and Nagy ejected by Rice; Thomas ejected by 1B umpire Marty Springstead for throwing equipment onto the field and then 3B umpire Larry Napp ejected Thomas for the choke sign; Thomas ran onto the field and shoved Napp, who sent the rest of the Red Sox players to the clubhouse to cool off; they were still eligible to play
Dalton Jones homered but was called out for passing Don Wert
