Notes & reviews

  • Frank Robinson appeared to be hit on the hand by a pitch; he trotted to 1B and Luis Aparicio moved to 2B; HP umpire Emmett Ashford huddled with 1B umpire Red Flaherty; they examined Robinson's hand and ruled that he had not been struck by the ball; Aparicio remained at 2B and the Indians complained; Ashford said that the pitch had been a ball and time had not been called; Aparicio was credited with a stolen base; both managers argued this play for 10 minutes
  • Indians Manager Joe Adcock ejected by HP umpire Emmett Ashford
