- White Sox Doby and Dropo as well as Yankees Martin and Slaughter, latter not in game, ejected by HP umpire Napp for fighting after wild pitch at Doby's head. The brawl caused a delay of 28 minutes. Philley replaced Doby with a 1-2 count and completed the strikeout charged to Doby.
- Yankees' Ford, not in game, ejected by 1B umpire Stevens for arguing Hatfield was out at 1st.
- Howard suffered injured finger from Pierce's foul tip
- Phillips slipped and fell in a puddle; the ball rolled to the bullpen. Richardson overslid 3B.
