Notes & reviews
- Red Sox manager Carrigan ejected by HP umpire Wallace for arguing interference should have been called on McBride when he got in the way of Ruth's throw to Thomas trying to nail Moeller at home plate. CFer's throw got past catcher but pitcher Ruth was backing up the play and threw it back to Thomas in plenty of time but McBride, who had scored from 2nd, deliberately blocked the throw allowing Moeller to score from 1st.
