Notes & reviews
- RF Garms muffed May's flyball but threw to 2nd to ostensibly force out Suhr. Umpires also called May out for passing Suhr as he rounded 1st base (Suhr had remained near 1st base) for an apparent inning-ending double-play. Phils convinced umpires that the force was removed on Suhr once May passed him on the bases. The double-play was rescinded and Arnovich's run counted (he scored after the muff).
