Notes & reviews

O`Farrell: lunging catch of wind-blown foul
30-minute rain delay following 1-0 count on Gehrig. The infield was covered with a tarpaulin. When play was resumed at 2:50pm the field was a quagmire of mud. Footing was slippery everywhere except the pitchers and batters boxes. The sun was shining.
