Notes & reviews
- Temperature: warm
- Hoyt ran over to 1B and beat Bancroft to the bag
- Ward: leaping catch
- On the 2-2 count, Ruth started to steal before Scott went into his motion. When Scott threw to 2B Ruth returned safely to 1B. Ruth tried advancing to 3B on Frisch's error but failed to slide, knocking Groh down; the umpires had to step between them to avoid a fight.
- Cunningham: nice running catch
- Groh: spectacular play
- Bancroft: running 1-handed stab & throw
