Notes & reviews

  • Mgr McGraw again watched the game from the stands. Today was Golden Jubilee celebration for Cubs; flag raised. Many 'old-timers' at game including Deacon White who caught in the Cubs' first game at Louisville on April 25, 1876. He is one of two survivors of Chicago's original lineup that year (1B man Cal McVey is the other, living in California). Tom Foley, who organized Chicago's first pro team in 1869, was also honored. Judge Landis and Prez Heydler attended.
