The weather was cold. Winter overcoats, earmuffs, and mittens were all the mode.
Kamm caught it back of the box
Davis fumbled it but recovered
Lyons fell as he tried to field it
Combs was going on the 3-2 pitch; Davis may have hurried
Combs' rough slide into Kamm brought jeers from the crowd. Kamm's throw to 1B was spoiled by the slide, but it looked accidental. Collins protested the interference to Ump Dinneen to no avail.
