Rangers pitcher Brandon McCarthy left the game due to an injured hand/wrist
the pitch was originally called a foul ball; Rangers manager Ron Washington argued the call and HP umpire Eric Cooper consulted with 1B umpire Angel Hernandez then changed the call to hit by pitch; Tigers manager Jim Leyland came out to argue with Cooper and then returned to the dugout; once in the dugout, Leyland was ejected by Cooper; after the game, Leyland said that the umpires got the call right but was upset at how long it took for Cooper to ask Hernandez about it
