Notes & reviews

  • with infield playing in, Mokan hit a popup to deep shortstop that SS Toporcer dropped when trying for an over-the-shoulder catch; LF Blades retrieved ball and apparently forced out Williams at 3B (Williams walked to Phils bench); 3bman Lavan then threw wildly trying to force out Walker at 2B; after several minutes of heated discussion umpires ruled that Mokan was out on Infield Fly rule and Williams was put back on 3B since the infield fly removes the force on other runners; Mokan was credited with RBI (sac fly) and Lavan was charged with an error for allowing Walker to reach 2B
